80th Reunion of the W.S.T.C. Class of 1940

In honor of your reunion, please make a gift for the Shafer-Noble Endowed Scholarship Fund.

The Shafer-Noble Endowed Scholarship Fund is named for two key leaders in the university’s history.  George Shafer led the school for nearly 30 years from World War I to after World War II and was president when the Normal School became Willimantic State Teachers College.  Frederick Noble was the longtime Principal of the laboratory school beginning with its opening in 1928.  Both have buildings at Eastern named in their honor.

Funds in the Shafer-Noble Scholarship now stand at just over $40,000.  Our goal is to bring the fund’s balance to $50,000 this year.  As your gifts are added to the principal of the endowment, more students will get the financial help they need to finish their degrees at Eastern!

Please make a gift of $100 or more, or whatever you can afford.  If you have questions, please call contact the Office of Alumni Affairs (860) 465-5302 or at [email protected].

Congratulations on reaching the milestone of your 80th Reunion, and thank you for your support of your Alma Mater!
